elaborating a little from before:

sometimes the only way to go forward is to go back.

but then you have to remember that the key is to go a little, not a lot, otherwise it's not in the interest of going forward anymore, it's just going backwards in denial, talking to yourself about how it's actually helping you when in reality all it is is static. it's safe. because it already happened. and the future is always, always fucking undefined.
